If you’re looking for a book that explores everything you love about the written word, this is the book for you, something Ms. Dillard sums up eloquently as she dedicates her book to the people who, “if you told them the world would end in ten minutes, would try to decide—quickly—what to read.” She refers to writers of fiction as “thoughtful interpreters of the world.” Her prose is personal, intimate, loving—an extraordinary insight into why we lovers of fiction are so passionate about our stories. And then we get to the part where “the world is the fabrication of a billion imaginations all inventing it at once” and you have to just stop for a moment and stare off into space.
Read this one to share some time simply celebrating the slightly miraculous act of storytelling.

I don’t think I could have summed this up better in a million years!
Storytelling is an art and this does a great job reminding us of that.
Thanks! Let me know if you’ve got a recommendation for a book on writing, I’m always looking!
